Blog 4: Reflection

I have to say the my experience in this class for the past 2 weeks has been unexplainable. I disliked English a whole lot but since I came into this class and I created the blog I have to say I wish all English classes where like this. Plus I also like the topic we are working on the supernatural it is one of my favorite things to talk about. I am definitely looking forward to doing more blogs. I also learned that poems can be very very long. Even though the poem "Goblins Market" was long I really like the poem.

Blog 3: Tone and symbolism

The poem I found interesting to me is called Drink My Love by an anonymous author. I read threw a lot of poems but this one just caught my attention. This poem is a pretty deep poem. It haves different tones. It also has some symbols.

What is tone? Well, tone is a sound. In literature tone is the what something sounds like and how something makes you feel. Like some tones might make you feel sad or worry. In the poem I read there are different tones at different parts of the poem. In the first part of the poem you get a feeling of her trying to give her all to the vampire. The example would be when it say "allow my blood to impower thee". Another tone the you get is of love. She loves the vampire so much she wants home to turn her into a vampire. An example of this tone would be "Drink So I could live an eternal life Forever with you".

What is symbolism? Symbolism is using a word to represent something with out write out a whole phrase. Like for instants use the word sky to represent be free or eternity. In this poem Drink My love the one big symbol is blood. Blood in this poem symbolise life. It also is like power. Not only that but everyone knows that blood is a vampires lifeline. Another symbol in this poem would be drink. you my get the picture of just someone drinking something but in this poem its more then just drink something. The word drink in this poem the way its being used is that she is offering her self to her love and she is tell him to feast upon her.

To wrap this up the poem is good poem. Even though it does have a few mistakes in it overall I really like the tones and symbols of this poem. This poem doesn't really talk about life in genreal. It does talk about love even though in the poem it is talking about a human and a vampire in reality humans act the same way when they are in love. They give there all to that one person. They might not be saying drink my blood, but people usally would say something like ill give my life up for you or i will take a bullet for you. So I guess it doesnt matter if you are a vampire and a human couple or a just a human couple love makes you do crazy things.

Blog 2: Drink my Love (Vampire Poem)

Well I choose the topic of Vampires because I love them ever since I can remember. From the movie of Vampire in Brooklyn to Interview With the Vampire or Underworld. I also like love poems so I tried to combine them and find a vampire love poem so thats exactly what I searched on Google.com. This is just one of the poems I liked:

Drink my Love

Yes Love.
Dig your fangs in my neck so deep.
Savor the taste.
Suck and Drink
Allow my blood to impower thee
Awaken the beast hidden inside of me

For you have been weak
I wish to be the aid

This poems seems to be about a female who is in love with a vampire and would like to become whole with him. She wants to wants him to feed off her so she too can become immortal and she can can go feast on blood too.
